TREATMENT
Your treatment specialist will first take your basic medical history and examine the treatment area to identify and discuss areas of volume loss. Because the results of Sculptra develop over time, clinical photographs will be taken before you begin each treatment session to record and ensure progress toward your desired results.
The Sculptra injection is combined with the numbing agent Lidocaine to help increase your comfort. Immediately after injection, your Kucumber expert will use a deep, circular motion to massage the treatment area for approximately 5 minutes to evenly distribute the product. You will continue massage at home following the 3-3-3 rule: 3 minutes of massage, 3 times a day, for at least 3 days. The massage regimen ensures continued product evenness as the Sculptra is broken down by your body. During the product breakdown, collagen is produced and absorbed by your body. It is this process that increases skin volume and creates lift.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Short-term effects include minor discomfort during the injection as well as post-treatment skin redness and swelling. In general, the more material that is injected, the greater the duration and extent of swelling.
In contrast to the instant gratification of other dermal fillers, Sculptra’s results develop over time, with optimal results seen and maintained several weeks to months after your first treatment. To help you envision your final results, the volume restoration you see immediately after your first injection is like that which will be maintained after your third injection session.
Three sessions are typically recommended, scheduled three to six weeks apart. After full correction is achieved, you can expect your results to be sustained up to two years and more.
