PDO Thread Lift

“If I lifted a little bit here, maybe tucked there, I would look great.”

If you’ve ever said those words, you’re not alone. Like many of our clients, you want a subtle, cosmetic lift and the added tightening — but not the risk or the recovery from an invasive surgical procedure. The PDO Thread Lift may be your ideal, non-invasive, non-surgical procedure to lift and contour loose skin.

Uncontested for Neck & Jawline

Originating from oriental acupuncture therapy, Thread Lift therapy controls and improves tissue stimulation and muscle contraction. The threads are made of an FDA-approved material called Polydioxanone (PDO) which has been safely used in orthopedic and cardiovascular surgeries and wound closures for well over a decade. When inserted properly by a licensed medical expert, the PDO threads can very effectively strengthen the contour of the face and body — reducing roundness and lifting sagging skin. The PDO Thread Lift is ideal for cheeks, face, brows, jawline, neck, arms, buttocks and abdomen.

  • Tighten loose, sagging skin
  • Increase collagen production
  • Ideal for all skin types
  • Non-surgical, painless procedure
  • Instant, sustained results

At Kucumber Skin Lounge, we offer multiple types of Nova PDO Threads to help you achieve the greater volume and lift. NovaMesh tightens the skin naturally from within. The mesh of threads — inserted in a pattern similar to a # hashtag — add three-dimensional volume and firmness by stimulating collagen production below the skin in the treated area. The other technique, NovaLyft, results in dramatic and immediate results. Unlike the smooth threads utilized in the NovaMesh technique, NovaLyft PDO sutures have microscopic “barbs” that grip the skin tightly. The sutures are inserted the same way and are pulled in two directions to create an instant skin repositioning. Like NovaMesh, new collagen is stimulated and produced, securing the instant lift.

Treatment

PDO Thread lifts work through various mechanisms. Strategically placed beneath the skin, the PDO Thread promotes neo-collagen and fibrous tissue formation in the surrounding tissue. The net effect is a mild, natural, non-surgical lifting and tightening. PDO Threads are synthetic, absorbable surgical sutures composed of polydioxanone. used to perform cardiothoracic surgery (such as open-heart surgery). They’re among the safest materials to implant into the body. Your skin fully absorbs the material within four to six months without creating any scar tissue. You and your skin care specialist will consult in advance to determine the areas to target with your PDO Thread Lift if you are a candidate for the treatment.

What to expect

Local anesthetic is injected into the treatment area. The PDO Thread will then be introduced using a cannula or micro-needle. The treated area will feel numb and may appear asymmetrical for a few hours, similar to your experience after dental injections. After treatment in the facial area, avoid chewing or hot liquids regaining full sensation.

You will see a mild improvement immediately after Thread Lift treatment. The lifting and tightening will increase over the next two to six months as more collagen is produced. The PDO Threads gradually dissolve and are naturally processed out of your body over about six months, but much of the resulting collagen-based lift remains. The procedure takes 30 minutes or less to perform, depending on the treatment area. Recovery time is minimal to none, and the results are a natural, refreshed look. When you combine PDO Thread Lifts with fillers and Botox, even greater results can be achieved.
