Microneedling at Kucumber Skin Lounge

You’ve tried every serum and acid on the market, but acne scars, enlarged pores, and fine lines remain stubbornly visible. Many patients hesitate to try deeper skin resurfacing because they fear the harsh, raw look that usually gets associated with aggressive cosmetic treatments or lasers. At Kucumber Skin Lounge, we use microneedling as a biological wake-up call to improve the appearance of your skin. It is a controlled way to convince your skin to act younger by repairing itself.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses a medical device to create microscopic punctures in the deeper layers of the skin. This collagen induction therapy triggers the body’s natural healing process, rapidly increasing collagen production to repair scars and wrinkles from within. Unlike a manual dermal roller, our professional devices use fine needles to create clean, tiny holes that stimulate collagen production for an overall improvement in texture and tone.

What Are the Benefits of Microneedling?

Microneedling therapy offers clinical-grade results with a significantly lower risk profile than deep chemical peels.

  • Natural Protein Boost: The microneedling procedure activates collagen remodeling for long-term firmness and a youthful appearance.
  • Safe for All Tones: This is a safe procedure for darker skin tones and darker skin types because it avoids the heat that can damage blood vessels.
  • Textural Correction: It is a highly effective treatment for treating acne scars, stretch marks, and enlarged pores.
  • Enhanced Results: This minimally invasive procedure provides significant skin rejuvenation with only a day or two of social downtime.

Aesthetic Concerns Addressed with Microneedling

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Treating fine lines is one of the most common goals for this anti-aging treatment. By creating microscopic punctures, the microneedling treatment forces the skin to generate new proteins that fill in fine lines and wrinkles.

Acne Scars and Deep Scars

To effectively treat acne scars and surgical scars, the thin needles must break up the fibrous tissue of deep scars. This helps level out the skin's surface and improve skin texture.

Enlarged Pores and Skin Laxity

Microneedling stimulates the structural proteins that keep the skin tight, which naturally shrinks the look of enlarged pores.

Hyperpigmentation and Dark Spots

When these tiny needles hit the skin, they trigger a healing process that sheds damaged cells. This fades dark spots and fixes sun damage without the intense recovery that you would need for heavy skin resurfacing.

Areas Treated with Microneedling

Facial Rejuvenation

The face is the main area we treat. We use a device specifically designed for precision in these delicate zones.

Neck and Décolletage

We use microneedling on the neck and chest to tighten sagging skin and soften lines. These areas are often more sensitive than the face, but the minimally invasive treatment is usually well-tolerated.

Hands and Surgical Scars

The hands often show age through dark spots and thin skin, which microneedling can effectively refresh. We also treat surgical scars and stretch marks on the abdomen or thighs by using longer needles when necessary to reach the target tissue.

Scalp and Hair Loss

Microneedling is becoming a frequent choice for those experiencing hair loss. The tiny needles can help stimulate collagen production and improve the environment of the scalp to support follicle health.

Am I a Candidate for Microneedling?

This treatment is minimally invasive and generally well tolerated; however, you should avoid microneedling if you have active skin infections, open wounds, or cold sores. I will turn away patients with a weakened immune system or those with a history of keloid scars. While microneedling outcomes are generally excellent, clinical studies suggest that those with certain skin conditions may require other treatments instead.

Your Microneedling Treatment

You will feel a light scratching or vibrating sensation as the fine needles move across the skin. We apply a high-strength numbing cream for 30 minutes before the treatment to minimize any "ouch" factor. After the device creates the channels, we apply a calming serum or growth factors—like platelet rich plasma—to aid the healing process and achieve optimal results.

Recovery after Microneedling

You will look and feel like you have a mild sunburn for a few hours or up to two days. During this time, the area may show mild redness and some light flaking. It is important to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours while the tiny holes in your skin close up. For enhanced results, we recommend using Viktor Michael skincare products, which are formulated to protect the skin during this sensitive window.

Microneedling Results

One session usually isn't enough to see the overall improvement most people are looking for. While your skin might feel tighter and smoother in a matter of days, the internal collagen induction is a slower process.

  • Timeline: You'll usually start seeing a real difference in a few weeks as fresh cells make their way to the surface.
  • Long-term: If you’re looking to fix acne scars or deep wrinkles, the biggest changes usually show up six to eight weeks after the procedure.
  • Maintenance: To keep that youthful appearance and get the best results, we usually suggest doing a series of three to six sessions.

Cost of Microneedling

Pricing will reflect the surface area addressed and the complexity of the correction required. Treating localized acne scars requires a different approach than a full face and neck session. Because we use professional devices rather than a simple dermal roller, the investment covers medical-grade safety and the expertise of our specialists.

A dermal roller can tear the skin as the needles enter at an angle. Our medical device uses vertical fine needles to create precise microscopic punctures.

Absolutely. We often use it alongside growth factors or platelet rich plasma for enhanced results and a faster healing process.
